"Gimme a Kiss" Template

Gimme a Kiss is Template (a.k.a. Theme) for DokuWiki. I release it as it is and cannot give support. Is has been written before the DokuWiki version rc2006-10-19 (I cannot exactly remember) but it works also with the current version of DokuWiki (right now 2008-05-05). If you wanna test a live version first, check out this wiki.

How to Install

Download Gimme-a-Kiss as ZIP or TAR.GZ archive
Copy Gimme-a-Kiss into the <yourdokuwikidir>/lib/tpl folder

Customization

edit user/config.php
add/overwrite styles in user/screen.css and user/print.css
overwrite kisslayout/mainlogo.png and kisslayout/footerlogo.png
overwrite kisslayout/button_*.png and kisslayout/symbol_*.png

Licence

Gimme a Kiss is released open-source under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 licence, except the logo. It's released under GPL.

Currently I'm using the MiniDokuLicious template here on this wiki for testing purposes. You may check out the Git repository to test it yourself. I guess it's not stable now, some work must be done and I will change the layout a little bit.

NFTR: Not For The Robots

NFTR is a DokuWiki plugin which tries to prevent the indexing of user configured wiki pages and namespaces by search engines. For those pages the plugin adds a noindex tag for robots to HTTP- and HTML headers.

DokuWiki got a built-in method to hide pages. Those pages have a 'noindex' in their metadata and they are hidden in feeds and search results but this behaviour is not inherited to sub pages or to whole namespaces.

Not For The Robots provides the possibility to show pages to the user (feeds, search results) but provide metadata to prevent the indexing of pages and namespaces (including all sub pages) by search engines.

This does not mean that this content is not indexed by any search engines, spiders and robots could ignore all the information. But in generally, their spiders respect it (Google, Yahoo, … won't index your content if you ask not to do).

If you use your DokuWiki with mod_rewrite and nice URLs, you probably don't need this plugin, you could use robots.txt instead.

Update: NFTR has a Git repository now.

Features

in the HTML header the plugin sets the meta tag for robots to <meta name=“robots” content=“noindex,follow”/> and
additionally it sends X-Robots-Tag: noindex via HTTP header

Installation & Configuration

Using DokuWiki plugin manager

copy the archive URL of the stable version: ZIP or TAR.GZ, both they contain the latest stable release (this way you can use the update method from the plugin manager later)
Go to the configuration page in your DokuWiki admin and configure the list of wiki pages and namespace which should be not indexed. Please use the colon (:) for page- and space names, and space to separate them, e.g. en:seo de:testarea

Without plugin manager

Download and unpack the ZIP- or TAR.GZ archive.
Rename folder to nftr
Copy the nftr folder to the plugin directory of your DokuWiki (should be located in <yourdokuwikidir>/lib/plugins).
configure the plugin at DokuWiki's configuration page

DokuSIOC integrates the SIOC ontology within DokuWiki and provides an alternate RDF/XML export of the wiki pages. The plugin creates metadata with auto-discovery links and content negotiation, pings PingTheSemanticWeb.com on updates, and it provides linked data.

Installation

Using DokuWiki plugin manager

copy the archive URL of the stable version: ZIP or TAR.GZ, both they contain the latest stable release
go to DokuWiki admin > Plugin management
paste the URL and hit the Download button

This way you can use the update method from the plugin manager later.

Manually

Download and unpack the ZIP- or TAR.GZ archive
copy the dokusioc folder to the plugin directory of your DokuWiki (should be located in <yourdokuwikidir>/lib/plugins) (just overwrite the files if you upgrade from the poc version)

Configuration

Go to the configuration page in your DokuWiki admin and configure:

name of namespace for user sites (this is used for sioc:UserAccount URIs)
the website the wiki is part of (used as sioc:Site)
if the plugin should ping ptsw.com after a wiki article was edited/created (can only work in the latest DokuWiki version)
soft check for testing the accepted header for the request (soft check: DokuSIOC only tests if application/rdf+xml is accepted but it deosn't rank the quality parameter)
send noindex: DokuSIOC will send X-Robots-Tag: noindex header for RDF documents to prevent search engines from indexing the RDF views

Bugs & Upcoming features

Currently the plugin is not very wide tested, maybe you can help, e.g. how is it behaving if DokuWiki uses nice URLs through mod_rewrite or with complex ACL. Please submit bug reports and feature requests to the DokuSIOC issue tracker at Github. Would be nice to hear from you: haschek@eye48.com
